How Does It Work?

The SkinPen by Bellus Medical is an advanced micro-needling device that works by creates thousands of controlled microchannels in the skin to stimulate your body’s natural wound healing activity. This healing process works at the site of the treatment to remodel the tissue resulting in the production of new collagen and elastin to give your skin a smoother, healthier and younger looking appearance.

The SkinPen treatment is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of general surgical and acne scarring, stretch marks, fine lines, enlarged pores, sun damaged and ageing skin.   The SkinPen treatment is suitable for all skin types.

Is there any downtime?

Some redness or tenderness in the treated area may occur at the time of treatment but this generally resolves within 24 to 48 hours.

How sessions will I need?

We recommend a series of three to six treatments, four to six weeks apart. We may recommend more treatments if necessary, depending on your particular skin complaint.

Results

Although the process of cell regeneration starts to occur immediately after the treatment, results become visible at around six weeks. During this time, collagen production is increased, skin cell regeneration occurs and blood supply to the surface of the skin is enhanced, bringing about a natural and long-lasting improvement in the look and feel of skin.
