Sculptra

The first and original collagen stimulator, Sculptra's unique stimulation process works deep within the skin to restore your own colllahen for radiant, firmer, youthful-looking skin.

What Is Sculptra

Sculptra is a type of dermal filler that helps stimulate natural collagen production.  The poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA) in Sculptra forms a framework that helps support and maintain the skin’s inner structure, which may lead to a more youthful-looking appearance.

How Does It Work?

As we age, our skin’s collagen and elastin will naturally decrease.  Sculptra is injected under the skin where the PLLA-SCA microparticles are absorbed.  They stimulate and restore your own natural collagen production.  Soon, collagen strands will begin to gradually rebuild, and skin structure will be restored, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Is There Any Downtime?

There may be a mild injection-related reactions such as bleeding, bruising or swelling which usually resolves within a few hours to a few days after treatment but you can usually resume your normal daily activities immediately.  You may be advised to avoid strenuous exercise, intense sun exposure and alcohol for a few days after treatmetnt.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Single treatments will be very effective but for optimal results, three to five treatments are recommended.

When Will I See Results?

Results are not immediate.  As your collagen builds, you will begin to see improvements in the texture and volume of your skin within a few weeks and over the next few months you will see improvements in your facial volume, a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles and improved elasticity.  You will notice the full results after three to six months and results can last up to two years.
