2D and 3D Skin Health Analysis

These days we regularly take photographs of ourselves with digital cameras and smartphones, but a photograph can only show you a certain view of your skin and how you are ageing.

You can get a more detailed view of the true condition of your skin, and more importantly how best to look after it with our advanced 2D and 3D skin health analysis system – Clear Vision 3D Imaging System.

This is a 3D imaging platform distributed by Alma Lasers, a world-leading medical aesthetic technology provider, which uses 6 different high-resolution cameras to provide us with a 3D image of your skin from a single snapshot, capturing frontal and profile shots in just one click.

Our high-definition cameras, combined with our speciality filters, give us the clearest possible view of what is happening both on the top layer of your skin as well as in the layers underneath the surface. This allows us to identify a range of skin problems that may not be visible to the naked eye.

This 2D and 3D skin health analysis allows us to decide on the very best course of treatment for your skin. We can view changes in skin tone and texture, pigmentation, vascular lesions and more using the cameras and filters, and once a course of treatment begins, we can then use the system to track and assess your progress and tweak the treatment programme if necessary. This means that your treatment will always be tailored to your skin, ensuring the best possible outcome.

What Can Clear Vision 3D Imaging System Do For Me?

We use the Clear Vision 3D to look at a wide variety of skin characteristics, including:

  • Pores
  • Skin tone and texture
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Porphyrins (bacteria that may be present in the pores)
  • Brown spots and red areas
  • UV damage
During your consultation, we’ll take images of your skin, assess them together and then discuss potential treatment plans with you. We’ll also give you a detailed analysis report of your skin that you can take home with you, as well as guidance on how you may be able to address and improve any skin complaints at home.

Dermalux LED Phototherapy

How it Works

Dermalux LED phototherapy harnesses the power of three light wavelengths or colours (red, near infrared and blue light, used individually or combined) to treat a range of skin conditions and complaints, including generally ageing skin, rosacea and problem skin, dermatitis and poor complexion. It works by accelerating the body’s own repair processes to promote healing and cell renewal. During treatment, skin cells absorb the light, using the extra energy to accelerate cell repair or to destroy bacteria. Studies have shown that skin cells exposed to LED light regenerate by up to 150-200% faster than cells not exposed to LED light, with an increase in hydration of up to 600%. The different light wavelengths treat a variety of different skin complaints.

Red Light tends to be used for anti-ageing and to rejuvenate skin and can have the following benefits:

  • Smoothes fine lines and wrinkles
  • Plumps sagging skin
  • Evens skin tone and texture
  • Increases hydration
  • Soothes redness, irritation and sensitivity
  • Speeds up the healing process
  • Improves blood and lymphatic circulation, improving skin health
  • Restores a youthful glow

Blue Light has powerful anti-bacterial properties and tends to be used for problem skin including acne. It can have the following benefits:

  • Reduces acne infection occurrence
  • Reduces and helps to fight against infection
  • Helps to kill and destroy bacteria present within the skin which cause acne and other problem skin complaints
  • Minimises and shrinks large pores
  • Decongests problematic, spot-prone skin

During Treatment

Treatment typically takes just 30 minutes and is pain-free – in fact, some patients even report a feeling of wellbeing as exposure to light can actually boost serotonin levels, helping to relieve stress and improve mood. It’s not unheard of for patients to actually fall asleep during treatment and need to be woken at the end! It may also feel slightly warm, and this is simply due to the stimulation of blood circulation. Skin may appear plumper, fuller, brighter and more youthful after just one treatment and results will continue to improve in the days and weeks following treatment. Some patients will have just one treatment to rejuvenate their skin for a special day, whilst others will have a course of treatment to target specific skin complaints, and then go on to have periodic top-up treatments to maintain their results.

Is Dermalux LED Phototherapy Right for Me?

The results of LED phototherapy are clinically proven, with over 1,700 research studies proving that the therapy is suitable for treating a vast range of skin conditions with no side effects. Most patients can be effectively treated with LED phototherapy, although some medical conditions do cause photosensitivity, so we will ask you about your medical history before treatment to ensure that it is suitable for you.

Dermaroller / Skin Needling

Electronic Dermaroller (EDS)

To improve the appearance of a wide range of skin complaints, including fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, scarring, sun-damaged and ageing skin, we use the EDS Electronic Dermaroller. The automated, hand-held device uses a process called medical skin-needling, a procedure that encourages cell regeneration and repair, creating smooth, bright, youthful skin.

Medical Skin-Needling

Medical skin-needling, sometimes also called Collagen Induction Therapy or Dermarollering is a long-established procedure used to treat a wide range of skin issues, such as acne scarring, changes in skin tone and texture, sun-damaged or ageing skin, plus lines and wrinkles on the face and décolletage. During treatment, the practitioner will apply the manual Dermaroller to the treatment area. The action of rolling this small cylindrical device across the skin, which has rows of tiny needles embedded in it, creates thousands of micro-medical needle-columns. Each needle-column is microscopic, around 0.1mm in width, penetrating into the dermis of the skin. Although tiny, the needle-columns will stimulate the process of repair and regeneration within the body, encouraging new cell growth, smoothing out lines, wrinkles and scars and improving the appearance of skin tone and texture. Depending on the patient’s individual skin complaint, the practitioner can adjust the speed, intensity and depth of the treatment.

When treating areas on the body, such as for stretch marks, we use the Genuine Dermaroller. The process works in much the same way whereby micro-medical needle-columns are made in the surface of the skin in order to stimulate cell repair.

During Treatment

Our different Dermaroller treatments have a good comfort level and usually, our practitioners will apply a light topical anaesthetic to the treatment area in order to minimise any discomfort. We also have a number of topical solutions that we can apply during treatment in order to promote healing and enhance the procedure. Treatment is typically fairly painless and although you might experience some discomfort and redness, this is usually minimal and is easily treated with over-the-counter pain medication.

When Will I See a Difference?

Although the process of cell regeneration starts to occur soon after the treatment, results won’t really be visible for around six weeks. During this time, collagen production is increased and new collagen is formed, skin cell regeneration occurs and blood supply to the surface of the skin is enhanced, bringing about a natural and long-lasting improvement in the look and feel of skin. Generally, we recommend a series of three treatments, with at least six weeks between them. We may recommend more treatments if necessary, depending on your particular skin complaint.

Skin Peels / Chemical Peels

Our Treatments

We offer a range of skin peels, also known as chemical peels at Hilton Skin Clinics, including:

  • The Retinol peel, a mild to moderate peel suitable for treating ageing, acne and pigmentation.
  • The TCA peel, suitable for treating a wide range of conditions including mild acne scarring, age spots, pigmentation, melasma and solar keratosis (sun spots).
  • The Skin Brite peel, suitable for treating pigmentation problems, brightening skin tone.
  • The Pigmentation peel (often called the Pumpkin peel), suitable for treating pigmentation, smoothing fine lines, wrinkles and brightening skin.

Our skin peels come in a number of different strengths, suitable for all skin types and for treating a wide range of skin conditions. They work on a number of levels, treating surface skin complaints but also working deep within the skin to stimulate the production of elastin and collagen. The peels can also be combined with other treatments, such as microdermabrasion and we will also usually recommend a skincare regime for you to follow at home after the peel. [LINK TO THE MICRODERMABRASION PAGE]

What Happens During a Peel?

During treatment, once your skin has been analysed and an appropriate peel chosen, skin will be cleansed, a prepping solution applied and the peel gently applied to your skin. Depending on the treatment, gauze may then be applied to activate the peel. What happens after treatment depends on the type of peel you have. Some peels are light and gentle, exfoliating the top layer of skin very gently with no redness or flaking. Other peels are stronger and work at a deeper level to treat more severe skin complaints and so might cause some slight redness or tenderness and the shedding of the top layers of skin in the days following treatment.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

The amount of treatments you need really depends on your skin complaint. A series of three to six peels will usually be recommended, although some patients may choose to have just one peel before a special occasion or event to brighten and smooth their skin.

Benefits of Skin Peels

Skin peels can bring about a wide range of benefits, including:

  • A reduction in sun damage, including fine lines and wrinkles and sun spots.
  • A reduction in minor scarring.
  • Improved skin tone, colour and texture.
  • A reduction in acne and breakouts.
  • A reduction in pore size.
  • Brighter, tighter, plumper and more youthful-looking skin.
  • The stimulation of collagen and elastin, meaning that the appearance of skin improves over time as collagen and elastin production increases.

IPL Skin Rejuvenation

How it Works

IPL treatment works by emitting a range of different wavelengths of each pulse of light, targeted towards areas in the skin which may differ in colour to the surrounding tissue. The light may be targeted towards scars, freckles or otherwise pigmented skin. The skin then absorbs the light from the IPL, causing minor damage. Cell repair is then stimulated, helping to eliminate injured skin cells, creating new, smooth and blemish-free skin. Treatment is relatively painless and you can usually go back to your normal daily activities immediately after treatment.

What Can IPL Skin Rejuvenation Treat?

We use IPL skin rejuvenation to treat a wide range of skin complaints on the face, neck, chest and hands, including:

  • Broken veins, thread veins, spider veins and capillaries
  • Redness associated with rosacea
  • Sun spots, age spots and pigmentation
  • Imperfections associated with sun damage and ageing
  • Imperfections in skin colour, tone and texture
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Minor scarring and imperfections associated with acne

Results may be visible after just one session, with most results usually seen after around 10 days. During the weeks and months following treatment, skin will improve further, with more enhanced results after each and every treatment. A series of treatments are usually recommended, spaced around four weeks apart. A series of treatments can not only rejuvenate skin, giving it a smoother, brighter and more even appearance, but it can also eliminate and minimise some serious skin complaints, including rosacea and pigmentation.

The clinic really give you good advice in how to look after your skin and didn’t seem too pushy when selling what I needed. I ended having the EDS Dermaroller for my face and neck. I was so worried it would be so painful but surprisingly it's not that bad at all but I did have some anaesthetic cream applied before hand.

The staff are friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. When I arrived everything was explained to me and it was better than I had originally expected. I can’t wait for the next session of microdermabrasion!! I would now recommend them to my friends too.

The clinic is always spotless and has a warm inviting atmosphere. Staff members are extremely knowledgeable about all of their treatments, and they even took the time to speak to me over the phone relating to questions about my treatment before I even booked a consultation. 5 star clinic and would highly recommend to anyone.

I have had 4 treatments here for laser hair removal. The staff are extremely friendly and the product knowledge is excellent. The Treatment itself, well what can I say except… Pain FREE and after the first patch test, I noticed a significant reduction of hair.

The Soprano Laser Hair removal is a virtually pain-free treatment and I am very impressed with the results so far and I am only half way through my course. Looking forward to the final results!
