The Rise of Male Grooming – Wanting to Look Good isn’t Just for Women!

According to news reports, 2015 is the year that male grooming takes centre stage – it seems that men care about their appearance too. It’s not just women who are conscious about how they look, their sense of style, fashion and the ageing process; men have started to realise that making yourself look good is something that they can do too.

Men no longer just roll out of bed, into the shower and out the door to work in five minutes – nowadays men have as much of a skincare and haircare routine as women. Men feel the pressures too, many of them the same ones that women have been talking about for years – the need to keep up with younger work colleagues and look ‘fresh’ in the office, or being newly divorced and out there looking for love again in your 40s or 50s. Looking good and maintaining a youthful appearance is now important to both sexes.

According to market research company Data Monitor, 52% of men consider their appearance to be important or very important to them. A third of them spend at least 30 minutes a day on their personal appearance and admit to touching up their looks throughout the day.

You could be forgiven for thinking that it only applies to A-list celebrities, like Premiership footballers and Hollywood stars, but no – the man in the street wants to and CAN look his best too. More importantly, the desire to use skincare products or visit a cosmetic treatment clinic ,if you’re a bloke, is no longer something to be sniggered at – your mates down the pub are probably all at it too, if you just ask them! The era of facials, manicures, skincare regimes, anti-ageing treatments and even make-up for men is here.

Let’s face it, you want to look good in those selfies that you post on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram now don’t you guys?

Well, worry not, here at Hilton Skin Clinics we can help…and there will be no laughing at the fact that you’re interested in laser hair removal, wrinkle relaxing treatment or help with your acne scarring. Our team regularly treat men in our Reading clinic so you’re in good hands and not alone in visiting a cosmetic clinic.

We can provide men with anti-ageing treatments such as dermal fillers and botulinum toxins to add volume and contour your face, as well as relax lines and wrinkles and improve skin hydration and give you a natural, younger looking appearance.

We can improve on skin texture, tone and colour, including acne scarring, using our microdermabrasion treatments, intense pulsed light (IPL) or skin resurfacing laser, and our electronic dermaroller device to brighten and rejuvenate your skin to bring back your youthful glow.

Bothered by pigmentation or thread veins on your face? Then we have treatments to address those too, including IPL and advanced electrolysis.

So, if looking ‘well groomed’ is good enough for David Beckham or George Clooney, what are you waiting for?…It’s good enough for you too.

Want beach-ready, hair free legs for your summer holidays? Get started now with laser hair removal

It is estimated that a woman may spend over £12,000 in a lifetime (from age 16 to 65) on disposable razors as a solution for removing unwanted hair on their bodies. Of course depilatory creams and waxing, both at home and in a beauty salons, are also widely used. Home waxing solutions are estimated to cost over £11,000 for a lifetime, with in-salon solutions coming in at over £17,000. It’s not cheap managing hairy legs and underarms is it!

You may think that laser hair removal is more expensive than all of those options, but you’d be wrong; in fact it’s very much cheaper.

The result from laser hair removal treatment, a reduction in hair in the area being treated, is considered to be nearly permanent once the treatment programme is completed. This means that there should be no further expense, on an annual basis, as you would have with razors, creams and waxing. It cannot be regarded as 100% permanent as hair may start to grow again based on hormonal changes in a woman throughout her lifetime – pregnancy and menopause for example. However, it is the most permanent solution given how impractical electrolysis is for large area hair removal.

Our prices for laser hair removal sessions on the lower leg start from £150 and a course of treatment, (approximately 6 sessions are recommended), will be £750. So as you can see laser hair removal is a good investment to get your pins ready for summer!

And that’s not all the good news…

Now is a great time to start treatment. This is due to several reasons.

The natural growth cycle of a hair is around 6 weeks, so in order to make sure that we can target all the hair in the area being treated and ‘catch’ them all, we need to treat the area in several sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart.

The laser is designed to target the melanin or pigment in the hair follicle (the darker your hair colouring the better and quicker your results will be), so ideally we want to have as little melanin in the skin to distract the laser light. This makes winter a great time to have laser hair removal, as our skin, which has been under our clothes and not exposed to the sun and tanning for several months, will be at its palest for our skin type. This further optimises your results from treatment. (Although, it is worth noting that the specific laser that we use can treat and produce great results on tanned skin and darker skin types anyway, but the paler you are, for you, it’s still better.)

So, what is laser hair removal?

We use the Soprano ICE Laser from Alma Lasers. This device has revolutionised laser hair removal and made it virtually painless. It uses IN-Motion™ technology where the hand piece is always being moved around the skin as it delivers the light energy, this technology has been clinical proven to be effective with over 6 years of study to back it up, and the ICE applicator also cools the skin through integrated systems, which means you will be comfortable throughout treatment.

The treatment works by delivering the laser light energy to the base of the hair follicle. This light is absorbed by the melanin (pigment) in the hair and this destroys it as it heats up. Repeated treatment to target all the follicles in an area and destroy them at the correct stage of their growth will result in the cessation of hair growth and reduction (almost complete removal) of all hair in the treated area.

We can treat legs, underarms, backs, faces, bikini lines and other areas on the body with this technology and free you from the bother of unwanted hair.

To find out more about laser hair removal with the Soprano ICE laser, simply contact Hilton Skin Clinics in Reading today to book an appointment.

Looking for a treatment solution for visible scars?

Scars can be atrophic in nature where they have the appearance of a depression or sunken area of skin where the underlying tissue has been damaged – this applies to acne scars, chicken pox scars or stretch marks, as well as some scars from surgery or accidental cuts. Scars can be hypertrophic where they are thick and raised in nature so are more obvious when you run your finger over them. Some people and certain ethnicities are more prone to hypertrophic or keloid scar formation when they produce scar tissue. These scars are the most difficult to treat effectively, but can still be improved upon in many cases.

No matter what causes a scar, the simple fact of having a visible scar, especially on a prominent part of the body such as the face, hands or arms can have a significant psychological effect on the individual concerned. A desire to hide or camouflage the scar with make-up or clothing, a constant self-consciousness about it, or at its worst a lack of self-esteem leading to isolation and social exclusion can all be due to the presence of an undesired scar.

Scars can also lead others to have an impression about the character of another person upon first meeting – let’s face it, most film ‘baddies’ will have a prominent facial scar to show their ‘battle wounds’ and just how tough they are, so the association and stereo-type is evident. Similarly, a recent survey by a company that makes a scar management cream showed that a third of the 250 men they questioned felt the need to alter their behaviour when first meeting people, either as a way of tackling negative impressions related to a ‘bad boy’ image caused by the presence of a scar or even to play up to it.

At Hilton Skin Clinics in Reading we have a variety of treatments that we can offer to help reduce the appearance of many different types of scar, in some cases we can virtually eliminate them completely. A thorough consultation and diagnosis of your scar type and history will mean that we can choose the best treatment option for you.

Medical skin needling with our electronic dermaroller device called the Electronic Dermastamp (EDS) is a great method for treating atrophic scars. By applying tiny needles which penetrate into the top layers of the skin we are able to stimulate the production of new collagen and skin cells to repair the area of the scar.

Similarly, we can use our iPixel fractional laser treatment which creates tiny ‘pixel-like’ areas of damage in the scar tissue when the ablative skin resurfacing laser energy is delivered. Again this stimulates the natural healing responses in the skin and new cells are produced which improve the scarred area.

Mild acne or chicken pox scarring can also be treated with some of the chemical peels that we offer.

Our specialist skincare experts can also advise you on a range of professional skincare products which you can use at home to aid the production and turnover of new skin cells; this will help improve your overall skin condition and aid in the reduction of the scarring that we are addressing.

“Accent” Your Assets – Banish Cellulite with Combined Ultrasound and RF

Ask any woman what bothers her most about her body and 99.9% of the time you can guarantee that the answer will involve cellulite.

There I’ve said it…cellulite!

It’s that lumpy, orange-peel or cottage-cheese looking area of skin that is resident on the upper thighs and buttocks of most women. It’s the one thing guaranteed to have accounted for large amounts of money to be spent on creams, special clothing and gym memberships over the years, in a vain attempt to banish it for good.

There’s a myth that cellulite is related to just being overweight. There is a grain of truth in that, as being overweight can sometimes make cellulite stand out more, but hormones and genetics can also have an effect on how it looks.

So, it’s false to assume that it’s all weight related as even slim, fit women can suffer from the curse of cellulite; in fact, it’s reckoned that somewhere between 85% and 98% of women have it. So you’re not alone.

This is because it’s all down to the way that woman store fat and the shape and structure of their fat cells – which also explains why men rarely suffer from cellulite.

From a medical point of view what is happening is that subcutaneous fat, i.e. fat cells underneath the skin, starts to herniate or push through the overlaying fibrous connective tissue that is found in the female pelvic region (the thighs, buttocks, abdomen etc.). This action of the fat pushing up through the tissue shows as a lumpy, dimply or pitted appearance on the skin, which we all stereotypically recognise as cellulite.

But all is not lost, at Hilton Skin Clinics in Reading, we have the latest device to address the unsightly appearance of cellulite, it’s called the Accent Ultra made by Alma Lasers.

The Accent Ultra is an advanced device that allows us to effectively target and reduce cellulite. It uses two state-of-the-art technologies of ultrasound and radiofrequency for safe and non-invasive body contouring treatment. It is designed to target just the fat cells and will not harm surrounding tissue.

The ultrasound energy is delivered deep into the tissue to target fat by disrupting or breaking the outer membrane of the fat cells which triggers the release of the fat stored within. This is then metabolised safely by the body. The Accent Ultra also includes radiofrequency which we can then use to assist with the lymphatic drainage which expels the released fat content, as well as tissue tightening of the connective tissue in the buttocks and thighs to smooth and reshape the area.

Treatment normally takes between three quarters of an hour to an hour and a half per session, depending on the size of the area being treated.

To get the optimum results from this treatment for cellulite reduction, we normally recommend a course of 4 to 8 treatment sessions, which are performed once every week to 14 days.

To find out more about cellulite treatments with the Alma Lasers’ Accent Ultra device, please contact Hilton Skin Clinics to book an appointment.

Harmony Comes to Reading! The Harmony XL Pro Cosmetic Laser Platform Launches at Hilton Skin Clinics

Being able to provide bespoke cosmetic laser treatments to our clients, which can address a wide variety of cosmetic and dermatological conditions, using state-of-the-art technology, is a core philosophy at Hilton Skin Clinics in Reading. With this in mind, we’re very excited to announce the launch of a brand-new, top of the range aesthetic laser platform device – the Harmony XL Pro. Even more exciting is that we are the only clinic in the Reading area who currently have this cutting-edge machine available to treat our clients!

This innovative device from Alma Lasers, a specialist aesthetic laser manufacturer, means that we can effectively offer modern, light-based treatments solutions for hair removal, acne, vascular or pigmented concerns, tattoo removal, along with skin rejuvenation techniques aimed at remodelling and improving texture and tone.

By having this full spectrum of laser technologies in one complete platform we are able to offer services which may not be available in other cosmetic clinics who invest in separate laser or intense pulsed light machines, which can therefore treat fewer cosmetic concerns.

But it’s not all about just having multiple technologies in one place, it’s about having the most advanced technologies which are known for their proven clinical results – a true harmony!

With the Harmony XL Pro platform, we have a machine which features a variety of light energy delivering hand pieces that can be used separately to treat certain cosmetic indications, or indeed combined for a targeted programme of treatment to achieve the optimum results for you, compared to just using one alone.

The Harmony XL Pro means that we can use and treat the following:

  • Fractional non-ablative Q-Switched 1064nm laser– we use this for skin re-modelling, targeting skin imperfections such as wrinkles, fine lines, sun-damage, uneven skin tone and improving mild skin laxity. Using the ClearLift 4D tip means that we have four different levels of penetration for our treatments so we can target and treat or combine treatments for superficial problems, all the way to deeper skin concerns.
  • Long pulsed Nd:YAG laser 1064nm – we use this to target vascular lesions such as thread veins. We can use it on its own or in combination with the Dye-VL (500-600nm) technology also available with our Harmony XL Pro.
  • Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser 1064nm – this handpiece is used on pigmented lesions, which includes areas of darker skin caused by sun damage, such as those markings referred to as age spots, sun spots or liver spots. By targeting the excess of melanin or pigment in these lesions we are able to successfully clear them away. We can also use this technology for tattoo removal, especially treating darker ink colours such as black, blue and green). By adding a KTP adaptor, to produce a 532nm laser, we ca treat more superficial pigmentation problems, as well as brighter tattoo colours such as red, yellow and orange.
  • Fractional iPixel Er:YAG laser 2940nm – this near infrared technology allows us to provide minimal downtime skin rejuvenation treatments specifically targeting uneven skin tone, coarse or uneven skin texture and superficial pigmentation concerns which don’t require more aggressive treatment.
  • AFT (Advanced Florescence Technology) – this is an advanced form of intense pulsed light (IPL) and provides virtually painless hair removal for all skin types, and crucially we can treat you all year-round, no matter if you have a bit of a sun tan. This hand piece has what is called a large spot size which means that it’s much quicker to treat large areas such as legs or backs, meaning treatments are delivered to you much faster.
  • ClearSkin – this is something of a first as the technology combines a non-ablative Er:Glass 1540nm laser with simultaneous contact cooling and vacuum technology which is used to treat all types of acne.

We know that this all sounds very technical and we don’t expect you to understand it all from this short blog, but we hope that you can at least note that the Harmony XL Pro gives us a great variety of different options that wouldn’t be available with a single stand-alone machine. The best thing we can think of to describe it is like a ‘Swiss-army knife’ of laser devices, with multiple options that we can use for whatever skin concern you come and see us with!

If you’d like more information about treatments that are available with the Harmony XL Pro, then please contact us today to book a consultation.

“Ice, Ice, Baby…Soprano ICE, ICE Platinum Baby!!” Latest Generation Laser Hair Removal Now in Reading

We think we have a lot to be pleased about too, because the Soprano ICE Platinum from Alma Lasers is the MOST advanced, single laser hair removal solution available in clinics, combining 3 simultaneous wavelengths of optimal laser light in 1 single application.

Soprano ICE Platinum Laser Hair Removal

This new Soprano ICE Platinum system means that the technology combines the power of a 755nm Alexandrite laser to treat the widest range of hair types and skin colours, (including tanned skin at any time of the year), a 810nm to reduce treatment times through speed, and a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser which is especially suited for darker skin types; all of this means that the Soprano ICE Platinum can simultaneously target different hair removal requirements.Soprano ICE Platinum machine

Treatment is still virtually painless, as has always been the case with our previous Soprano devices, but all skin tones and hair types can be treated due to its proven safety on darker skin types, as well as if you have a tan at any point in the year, (this won’t stop you from having laser hair reduction treatment, as may be the case with some devices). Treatment is super quick, which is good news for targeting larger areas like legs and backs, making this a true lunchtime procedure, and with no downtime you can return to what you were doing before you dropped by to see us!

Combining the three wavelengths of laser types means that the machine can target different depths of tissue and structures that define the hair follicle – known as the hair bulge, hair bulb and follicular papilla. Each one has a different level of penetration and absorption by the melanin (or pigment colour) in the hair, so the combination means better treatment coverage, better comfort, more comprehensive results and a safe solution for reducing unwanted hair.

  • 755nm Alexandrite – This is a powerful wavelength which is easily absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle so it is great for treating a wide range of hair types, including lighter colours or thin hair. It doesn’t go as deep into the tissue – hitting the bulge – which makes it very useful for treating hair in the eyebrows and upper lip.
  • 810nm – This wavelength offers deep penetration with a high power and can be used quickly and on large areas. The absorption by the melanin in the hair is considered to be moderate so it’s safer for when we treat darker skin types. By penetrating more deeply and thus hitting the bulge and the hair bulb, it is perfect for treating arms, legs and beards.
  • 1064nm Nd:YAG – This wavelength has an even lower absorption in the melanin of the hair, so it’s even better for treating darker skin types, and its penetration is even deeper than the 810nm, hitting the hair bulb and the follicular papilla, (the lowest part of the hair follicle), so it’s great for really deep hairs like you find in the arm pits, bikini line or scalp. The 1064nm wavelength is also known for having a high water absorption so it creates more heat, all of which is great for effective hair removal.

Another key advantage of the Soprano ICE Platinum is that it has the Alma Laser SHR™ technology. This is a unique method of laser hair removal, and is what makes it virtually painless, as the hair follicles are gradually heated with the handpiece in constant motion over the surface of the skin. This means that the skin remains undamaged and uninjured, and there is no ‘snapping-elastic-band-on-skin’ feeling, which you can experience with some devices that fire the energy in individual, static bursts and then move across the skin and fire again.

Alma Lasers is also celebrating 10 years of award-winning success for the Soprano machines, and rightly so as this platform has proven itself to be a cut-above the rest in the market for laser hair reduction devices – which is why we chose it for Hilton Skin Clinics. This special Soprano ICE Platinum device is the culmination of their scientific research and clinical evidence, comprising a latest generation, limited edition platform launched in 2016 and now available in Berkshire. But don’t just take our word for it, it is also shortlisted as a finalist for Treatment of The Year at the annual Aesthetic Awards being held later in 2016.

If you’d like more information about treatments with Soprano ICE Platinum, then please contact Hilton Skin Clinics in Readingtoday to book a consultation.

Anti-ageing treatments aren’t just for your face

You’d be forgiven for thinking that your face was the number one give away for showing your age – let’s face it, (excuse the pun!), it’s the main thing that people see when they interact with you, right? And that is true, but it’s not the only thing they see.

Worrying about crow’s feet, frown lines or sagging skin in the jowls and jawline are most definitely concerns that we all have as we age, but have you thought about how ageing can affect your neck, your hands, or if you’re a woman, your décolleté?

All these areas are often neglected when we think about anti-ageing treatments, but there are many options to address conditions which affect these areas such as crepey skin, age spots and pigmentation or so called ‘turkey neck’.

Let me explain the treatments that we have at Hilton Skin Clinics, for both men and women, which mean that it’s not just your face that can have some TLC towards making you look your best.

Chemical Peels

Skin peels aren’t just for your face. Sun damage can affect your hands, just as much as your face and skin peels can be an effective solution. They’re also great to use on the décolleté, also called the décolletage. This is the chest area in a woman, between the breasts and the neck, which is often exposed to the sun by low cut tops. The décolleté is prone to pigmentation spots, little brown age spots, or multiple freckles, all of which is due to sun damage. This also make the skin thin and wrinkly or crepey. Skin peels range in their depth of penetration and can we used to target this pigmentation to leave behind bright skin, as well as encouraging and stimulating new collagen or fresh skin cells to form to brighten and smooth the area.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

If you don’t fancy chemical skin peels, then using Intense Pulsed Light or IPL we can address skin pigmentation on the décolleté by destroying the melanin (pigment) with a special wavelength of light. As well as destroying the pigmentation, the IPL also stimulates the production of new collagen, so over time the appearance of the whole area is improved. We can also use this treatment on the face and hands to address it all in one go.

Dermaroller or Medical Skin Needling

The effect of crepey skin or skin which has multiple small wrinkles across the surface is often most noticeable in the décolletage area. You’d be surprised how much this area sees the sun during a lifetime and it can often be one area where you forget to regularly apply a high SPF sunscreen, even if you slap it on your face religiously every day. With V-neck tops or strappy tops, women often expose this area of the body right through from Spring and into early Autumn. Over time, this cumulative exposure can increase skin pigmentation as well as produce laxity in the skin and a leathery-look. As well as addressing brown spots with a variety of treatments, as we have discussed, we are able to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin – the stretchy parts which make up skin – using treatments like dermaroller or medical skin needling. We use both the Genuine Dermaroller system and the electronic dermaroller system called eDS. When either medical needling system is applied to the skin, thousands of micro-medical needle-columns will be produced. Each needle-column is microscopic, around 0.1mm in width, and will stimulate the process of repair and regeneration.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections or Botulinum Toxin

As we age, the bands of muscle which run down the neck, known as platysmal bands, begin to become more visible and thicker, so much so that they show even when you’re not extending or moving your neck around much. This phenomenon is often referred to as ‘turkey neck’. The good news is that botulinum toxin injections, or Botox®, which is a prescription medicine often used to treat crow’s feet and frown lines can also be used to reduce the appearance of these platysmal muscles. This reduces the amount that they stand out on the neck, leaving a smoother and more youthful look to the overlaying skin.

Dermal Fillers

As well as reducing lines and wrinkles on the face, or enhancing lips, dermal fillers are great to use in the hands to plump out the tops of the hands which often lose volume or fat and can start to look quite skeletal as we age. The old saying goes that if you want to know how old someone really is – look at their hands – well not anymore. If you think your hands are starting to look less plump and you can see more of the underlying tendons and tissue, then injecting a filler product may be a great solution to bring back some youth to your hands – then no one will know how old you are!

hands pigmentation

If you’re worried about the ageing effects on your hands, neck, décolletage, as well as your face then contact Hilton Skin Clinics in Reading today to book a consultation to discuss how we can help.

PROFHILO Skin Remodelling Cosmetic Injectable Now in Available in Reading

Stop Press! We have some very exciting news…

Hilton Skin Clinics has just launched a new cosmetic injectable treatment which is being heralded as a ‘game-changer’ by cosmetic medicine experts.

PROFHILO, which is made in Italy is comprised of hyaluronic acid (HA), as is present in some of the other dermal filler brands that we regularly use for volumising, contouring and smoothing wrinkles; but it’s not a dermal filler, which is what makes it so exciting.

Unlike many dermal fillers, PROFHILO uses both high molecular weight and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, 32mg of each to be precise. It is made without the need to add cross-linking agents to stabilise the gel; the makers simply use a heating process to produce it, which is unique to PROFHILO. The NAHYCO™ Hybrid Technology that is used makes it a much more natural product, as it is 100% pure hyaluronic acid. The clever part is that this hybrid mix of low and high molecular weight HA results in the slow and long-lasting delivery of both types of HA, and this is what stimulates the building blocks of new collagen in the skin. The combination of the two in this way means that they work cooperatively and in a completely different way to how they would if you used them independently.

We use PROFHILO to remodel skin, treat skin laxity and stimulate your own natural collagen production to rejuvenate your face or hands. This is not a ‘filling’ process, but adding a substance which enables tissue quality improvement, and is great for improving laxity in the cheeks and jowls. It’s also fantastic in areas which are regarded as difficult to treat with conventional dermal filler products, such as the temples, forehead and neck.

Treatment on the face, for overall rejuvenation, is carried out by injecting PROFHILO into five specific points which have been proven to be the optimum areas for placement. The product is very smooth and easy to inject, so treatment is quick and simple. Usually, you will need to have two sessions of treatment with a break of a month in between. After that, we can decide how regularly you might need to come back for a touch-up.

Once the product has had time to settle after treatment – by the way, you won’t leave our clinic with an immediate ‘plumped effect’ as such, as that’s not what it’s designed to do, remember it’s not a filler – what you will notice after a short time in an increase in the elasticity and firmness of your skin, which will continue to improve over time. You can expect the results to last at least 6 months, sometimes longer, depending on the improvement that we’re trying to achieve, as well as how well you look after yourself with your diet and lifestyle.

For the best way to really understand just how good PROFHILO is, you really need to see some of the results that are being achieved with the product, so here are a selection of before and after photographs, of real patients. Remember, your results may differ, and we will need to see you for a thorough consultation before we know if PROFHILO is the right treatment for you.

Need a little help to get you through Christmas and New Year? IV vitamin drips to the rescue!

It’s that time of year again…

As we dust off the Christmas decorations and get them all down from the loft, crack open the advent calendar and battle with the fairy lights; so, the stress begins. There’s the shopping to do, the work do’s and parties to attend, the ‘mulled wine and mince pie’ events around at friends and families’ houses, the school nativity and endless Christmas concerts, the present wrapping, tree decorating, and all of that is before your eaten your own body weight in turkey and trimmings, plus drunk the drink’s aisle at the supermarket by the time Boxing Day hits.

Christmas Dinner

All this manic activity, stress and over indulgence is just not going to make you feel on top of your game. That feeling of being at a low-ebb, needling a pick-me-up, a detox, or just something to give you an extra zip in your step as you gear up for Christmas and New Year can be addressed with intravenous vitamin therapy.

Never heard of it? Well, let me tell you more.

If you over-do-it with all that shopping, partying, event attending, planning, present wrapping etc., it can be pretty debilitating for your health and well-being, leaving you feeling fatigued, exhausted, partied-out, even sluggish and bloated. Not your normal self.

Eating the wrong kind of food – too much rich food as my mother always used to say – and drinking too much alcohol means that you won’t be getting all the vitamins, minerals and key nutrients that you need to stay fighting fit and on top form to enjoy the annual celebrations.

This means, that by the time January comes, you’ll be on your knees, run-down and a shell of your former self. But, all is not lost.

This is where a preventative boost of essential vitamins that your body requires on a day-to-day basis can give you that extra feeling of energy or ‘get-up-and-go’ to survive the festive season. Remember how Popeye used to down a tin of spinach when he needed that extra boost, well, this is the modern-day equivalent, and we’re all a lot busier these days that Popeye and Olive Oil ever were! But don’t just take our word for it, IV vitamin drips are a celebrity favourite too – from the Kardashians and Simon Cowell to Madonna and Cara Delevingne; they all swear by them!

Of course, getting enough sleep, maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle and getting your five-a-day, will go a long way to keeping your immune system in good shape, but most of us still don’t get all the vitamins and minerals that we really need, and winter time can be a period of increased deficiency in key nutrients.

Intravita IV Drips

This is where intravenous or IV vitamin infusion therapy comes in. At Hilton Skin Clinics we offer the Intravita range which can be tailored to meet your needs – whether you need to boost your immune system to ward off illness as you plan your festive season, detox after all that partying and indulgence, or give yourself an anti-ageing kick start so you look your best at the office do; we can customise a drip solution for you.

Our infusions include core ingredients such as vitamin C, vitamin B-12, glutathione, magnesium, zinc, plus other amino acids and anti-oxidants.

Our specially trained staff will take a medical and lifestyle history, as well as carrying out various general health checks, to determine the best IV drip option for your treatment.

We are also able to offer single booster treatments of an IV B12 Drip or the IV Antioxidant Drip which gives you a boost of glutathione, known as the mother of all antioxidants.

If you’re interested in learning more about intravenous vitamin drip therapy, then please contact Hilton Skin Clinics in Reading today to book a consultation to discuss how we can help.

WhatClinic CEO, David Roe congratulated Hilton Skin Clinics and said “The WhatClinic Customer Service awards have now run for nine years. In 2018 we are now including tens of thousands of ratings of patient to clinic phone calls, rating clinics on their politeness, helpfulness and customer service over the phone, as well as through email, online and in person. Ratings are useful to both consumers and clinics. Consumers can see which clinics have rated well with lots of other users, and Clinics can evaluate their own performance against others in their market, ideally with the goal of getting better and better at serving their patients, which is ultimately good for everybody.

We are delighted to be recognised for this award and our commitment to customer service. To receive such positive feedback from our clients is great, and we will continue to focus on our client engagement and your journey with us as our top priority, both now and in the future.

Amazing service by everyone , Dr Semira is excellent ..

Great experience. Very friendly . My hydrafacial feels amazing and looks good .

The clinic really give you good advice in how to look after your skin and didn’t seem too pushy when selling what I needed. I ended having the EDS Dermaroller for my face and neck. I was so worried it would be so painful but surprisingly it's not that bad at all but I did have some anaesthetic cream applied before hand.

The staff are friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. When I arrived everything was explained to me and it was better than I had originally expected. I can’t wait for the next session of microdermabrasion!! I would now recommend them to my friends too.

The clinic is always spotless and has a warm inviting atmosphere. Staff members are extremely knowledgeable about all of their treatments, and they even took the time to speak to me over the phone relating to questions about my treatment before I even booked a consultation. 5 star clinic and would highly recommend to anyone.

I have had 4 treatments here for laser hair removal. The staff are extremely friendly and the product knowledge is excellent. The Treatment itself, well what can I say except… Pain FREE and after the first patch test, I noticed a significant reduction of hair.

The Soprano Laser Hair removal is a virtually pain-free treatment and I am very impressed with the results so far and I am only half way through my course. Looking forward to the final results!
