Dermal Fillers Reading

We use a range of dermal fillers at the clinic to plump and fill out areas of the skin, to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, to add fullness and volume to lips and much, much more. Dermal fillers can be used in conjunction with Botox and other injectables to treat a wide range of ageing problems and when injected into the right spots, can even induce an “instant facelift” or be used to straighten or improve the appearance of a crooked nose or a drooping brow.

We stock dermal fillers from a number of manufacturers, including:

  • Ellanse
  • Belotero
  • Teosyal
  • Emervel
  • Radiesse

How Do Dermal Fillers Work?

Dermal fillers are composed of a variety of materials, but one of the most commonly used materials is hyaluronic acid. Once injected, the dermal fillers work by mimicking the hyaluronic acid already found in the body, filling and plumping lines and wrinkles and re-contouring the face. The fillers we use at Hilton Skin Clinics all work and are used in slightly different ways, outlined below:

Hyaluronic acid fillers used for wrinkle smoothing, to minimise and reduce the appearance of frown lines, lines from the nose to the mouth (naso-labial) and lines and creases around the chin.

Hyaluronic acid fillers used to plump and contour the face, to fill out sunken or hollow cheeks, the corners of the mouth and to improve the appearance of lines between the nose and mouth (naso-labial) and the marinoette folds (lines around the mouth that can cause a sad, down-turned appearance).

We use a range of fillers for lip enhancements, by adding subtle volume, increasing definition around the lip line, and can also create a full lip augmentation by adding volume and increasing definition.

Dermal fillers for tear trough treatments, to improve the appearance of eyes that are sunken or particularly tired. Tear trough treatments are more advanced and are not suitable for all patients, such as those with dark circles, loose skin or eye bags. If you want to learn more about whether you’re suitable for tear trough treatment, please contact us for more information.

Collagen stimulating fillers used for a full face “liquid” face lift. These fillers differ to the other fillers we use in that they actually stimulate collagen production, creating volume and plumping areas of the face affected by ageing or weight loss which can produce longer lasting results of up to 2 years.

Collagen stimulating fillers used to treat ageing hands by stimulating collagen production, adding volume.

During Treatment

Before treatment, we’ll discuss the areas that you’d like to treat as well as the dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections most suitable for your requirements. During treatment, a local anaesthetic cream and/or numbing device will be applied to the face to minimise discomfort before the dermal fillers are injected using ultra-fine needles. Results are visible immediately and the effects can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years, depending on the product used and the area being treated. Dermal fillers are biodegradable and this means that they’ll eventually be metabolised by the body, so future treatments will be necessary in order to maintain results.
