Warts and verrucae are extremely common. They’re small, rough lumps that typically appear on the hands or feet, but some may appear on different parts of the body.
Verrucae are defined as lumps usually appearing on the soles of feet or in-between toes. Most people develop warts or verrucae at least once in their life, with children or teenagers tending to be more prone.
An infection of HPV (human papilloma virus) causes warts and verrucae, with many not even realising they have the virus as no other symptoms are usually present. HPV increases the amount of keratin produced by the body – the excess keratin develops in the epidermis (top layers of skin), and this is what causes warts and verrucae to occur.
Warts and verrucae are extremely contagious and can be passed on through close skin contact. They may take a few months to develop following the initial infection.
Here at Hilton Skin Clinics, we offer an advanced form of electrolysis for the treatment of warts and verrucae.
A tiny needle is inserted directly into the growth itself, with a tiny electric current being passed through the needle into the wart. Cauterization occurs, causing it to eventually scab-over and fall off.

Treatment typically takes around 15 minutes, but this strongly depends on the size of the wart or verrucae being removed.
They’ll typically fall off to reveal smooth, blemish-free skin within just one week of treatment, but some growths may be more resistant. This may then require more than one treatment over a period of time until removal is successfully achieved.
Treatment is generally very well tolerated among clients, with many reporting very little pain or discomfort.
The clinic is always spotless and has a warm inviting atmosphere. Staff members are extremely knowledgeable about all of their treatments, and they even took the time to speak to me over the phone relating to questions about my treatment before I even booked a consultation. 5 star clinic and would highly recommend to anyoneBarbara Sopata
I have had 4 treatments here for laser hair removal. The staff are extremely friendly and the product knowledge is excellent. The Treatment itself, well what can I say except… Pain FREE and after the first patch test, I noticed a significant reduction of hair.S. Iqbal
The Soprano Laser Hair removal is a virtually pain-free treatment and I am very impressed with the results so far and I am only half way through my course. Looking forward to the final results!Rizwana Ali
The staff are friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. When I arrived everything was explained to me and it was better than I had originally expected. I can’t wait for the next session of microdermabrasion!! I would now recommend them to my friends too.Kate Monterian
The clinic really give you good advice in how to look after your skin and didn’t seem too pushy when selling what I needed. I ended having the EDS Dermaroller for my face and neck. I was so worried it would be so painful but surprisingly it's not that bad at all but I did have some anaesthetic cream applied before hand.Jul K
