The concept of a “non-surgical face lift” might sound too good to be true, but it most definitely is not. Here at Hilton Skin Clinics, we offer the Alma Lasers ClearLift 4D device, often dubbed the “Lunch Time Face Lift”. Patients can come into the clinic for a full laser neck and face lift treatment.
The Alma ClearLift 4D offers the first fractional non-ablative Q-switched Nd:YAG laser with a wavelength or frequency of 1064nm. We can also use something called a KTP adaptor on this laser and this doubles the frequency to 532nm. As well as that, it has a double rod for the laser, rather than just one, so it is able to maximise on the production of the laser energy which means we can produce efficient and effective treatments.
This laser is part of our new Alma Harmony Pro XL platform and is one of our most versatile devices within the platform as it provides us with a laser which we can use to treat three separate skin problems or indications. This technology means that we can use the power and benefits available from a device typically also used to treat pigmentations problems and for tattoo removal, to treat ageing which causes imperfections in the skin such as fines lines and wrinkles, sun damage (also called photodamage), as well as things like uneven skin tone, texture and minor laxity or skin sagging. With this we can treat the face, neck and décolletage or female upper chest area, which is a common area for showing the tell-tale signs of ageing.
Many lasers treatments use heat, generated within the upper skin layers to stimulate the production of new collagen. The ClearLift 4D, via the specially designed fractional Q-switched laser, has a deep mechanical effect, using what are called photo acoustic shockwaves, and focuses its energy beneath the epidermis of the skin, to create a much deeper, and controlled wound in the dermis, in the form of small microscopic holes spaced evenly apart, so the epidermis, top layer of the skin, is left undamaged. The body then starts the healing process to making new collagen and with that there is a contraction or tightening in the tissues, thus giving the lift.
Because healing occurs underneath the outer layer of skin, the process is very gentle, considered to be virtually painless with no downtime, and suitable for use on areas of skin that might be too sensitive for other types of treatment, as well as safe for all skin colours (types I-VI).
The process behind the non-surgical face lift is actually fairly simple. During treatment, the device is passed over the surface of skin, where the light energy is delivered into the dermis through high intensity nanosecond pulses of the laser.
The ClearLift 4D has variable depth control so we can combine different treatment techniques, such as going deep into the skin layers, as well as superficially, depending on the area that we are treating, what we are targeting for treatment, and the skin type (and skin colour) of the client. This is achieved through different tips that we attach to the laser hand piece, so that for example, with a superficial tip we can treat delicate area where the skin is thinner or where we only need to target fine lines, and then with a deeper tip we can treat areas of thicker skin with deeper lines or folds. This ability to vary the depths means we can work on different areas separately with different tips or in fact in combination in the same area to get the best results that we can for the skin lifting and remodelling that we’re trying to achieve.
Most people are suitable candidates for the ClearLift 4D. It is suitable for all skin types and most ages, with moderate signs of sun damage and ageing. The ClearLift 4D can treat fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead, between the mouth and nose, the delicate areas around the eyelids, the neck, around the mouth, the décolletage and even the backs of the hands. Unlike other laser treatments, the ClearLift 4D is suitable for use on all skin types and is the perfect way to achieve an overall tightened and rejuvenated appearance without the need for surgery or any downtime.
Treatment generally takes from 20 minutes upwards and many people actually report seeing immediate results following just one session. Results will continue to improve over the weeks and months following the treatment as collagen starts to rebuild, with the best results generally achieved after three to six sessions spaced two to three weeks apart. You may then be advised to have a follow-up session approximately 6 to 12 months after your last session to maintain results. The ClearLift 4D is pain-free, and because the laser works deep within the dermis, will leave no redness or tell-tale signs of treatment on the surface of skin. In order to prolong results, you are advised to lead a healthy lifestyle and follow a prescribed skincare regime.

The clinic really give you good advice in how to look after your skin and didn’t seem too pushy when selling what I needed. I ended having the EDS Dermaroller for my face and neck. I was so worried it would be so painful but surprisingly it's not that bad at all but I did have some anaesthetic cream applied before hand.Jul K
